We long for, and need, a conscious
union
with the Infinite. This IS as necessary
to
nature and intellect of man as food
IS
to the well-being of his physical
body.

THE LONGING OF
the soul IS beautiful and profound
stirring within our innermost being,
an experience each of us has as we
awaken along the Spiritual Journey.
Emerson referred to this experience
of awakening as Deep calling to
deep.” It is Life’s longing for Itself, a
call to us to come home and rest in
God. It IS a recognizing of the True
Self within.
This longing of the soul is not,
however, a reaching out for
something we have somehow lost or
that we lack, but rather It IS a desire
for conscious union with Life. We
cannot lose or lack this union, for IS
always Present. It IS infinite and
eternal. While continuously
expressing in countless forms, Life
remains always and forever an
omnipresent unity connecting and
enveloping all that exists. In the
stillness of our being, we can sense
the inner connection. We can sense
that the individual soul is part of
this infinite unity. If at times that
connection seems lost or missing,
we simply turn within and become
still, and know.
We can never be separate from
the unity that encompasses and
indwells all. When we feel a sense
of longing, when the soul IS restless,
we are being guided to enter into
silent communion with the Divine
Presence—-the Source and Essence
of all that exists.
I Rejoice
The Thing, Spirit, God, IS
all-encompassing. I see
Spirit, all around me.
The Thing manifests
Itself as the mountain
and the stream, the
Trout and the Deer. I
know myself, too, to be
Spirit in carnet form. I
Am made from that
ETERNAL stuff.
For all of this, I Am
greatful. I Am greatful
for the Thing—-Spirit,
God—-working through
me in all my affairs. I
Am greatful for all the
good I receive. I Am
greatful for the Spiritual
Principles I live by. I
release THIS WORD to
Law knowing that It IS
done. And so It IS.
